Catastrophic Injuries:
- $600,000 - 14-year-old girl received severe leg injury on roller coaster accident at the Dade County Youth Fair. Claim was made against ride operator for negligent operation.
- $700,000 - Airline passenger was attacked by a fellow passenger during an international flight from Panama, resulting in permanent vocal cord damage. Claim was made against the airline for negligent security.
- $1,250,000 - 7-year-old boy nearly drowned in a public beach, causing severe respiratory problems. A case was made against governmental agency for negligent supervision. Required a claims bill to be passed in Florida legislature to obtain full settlement over the $100,000 government cap.
- $2,800,000 - Near-drowning of a 6-year-old girl, resulting in severe brain damage. Claim made against home owner and national organization which sponsored the club meeting at the private residence.
- $3,500,000 - 6-year-old boy riding a bicycle in his neighbourhood was struck by a woman driving a rental car, causing partial paralysis to the boy. Claim was made against the driver and owner of vehicle, the rental car company.
Medical Negligence:
- $800,000 - Orthopaedic surgeon mistreated an elbow fracture, resulting in a permanent disability. Claim was made against the surgeon and hospital for negligent treatment.
- $1,000,000 - Case against South Broward hospital district for misdiagnosis of a left shoulder injury resulting in significant neurological dysfunction. Claim was made against the hospital facility and treating doctors.
- $1,150,000 - Death of 73-year-old woman caused by a misdiagnosis of her treating doctors. Claim was made against the doctors and the hospital.
Wrongful Death:
- $500,000 - An elderly gentleman with Alzheimer's disease was left unattended, wandered away from a nursing home and was fatally struck by an automobile. Claim was made against the nursing home owners and operators for negligent supervision.
- $850,000 - 39-year-old woman was struck by a semi-truck that ran over the curb, killing her instantly. Claim was made against the driver and the trucking company.
